This painting was exhibited at the Museum of Modern African Art (MOCAA) in Cape Town. I wanted to capture the intensity and intelligence of these two elephants. I got reference while on a trip to Botlierskop Game Reserve in South Africa. The elephants on this protected reserve are included in a unique cancer research program that explores their cell structures to that of humans. Elephants grow to about the same lifespan as humans.
